The Mandurah Historical Society offers a variety of activities for volunteers and we are able to tailor activities to suit your interests as a volunteer.
Stalls and Garage Sales
We organize Garage Sales once a month on every third Saturday of the month. Street Stalls are also held at least five times a year at the Mewburn Centre Gardens (opposite Woolies) on Scholl St in Mandurah from 8am-2pm (weather permitting). Stall dates are advertised on local radio and in the local papers.
Volunteers are needed to man the stalls and help with setting up and packing up on the day. We are also grateful for any baked goods, jams, etc. on the day, however, please contact the Society prior to baking as health restrictions and labelling requirements do apply to the sale of home-made goods.
We also accept donations of second-hand goods, etc. for re-sale. They can be dropped off at our office on Wednesdays between 10am-4pm. Goods are then sorted for our shed sales or street stalls as needed.
Collection
We have opportunities for data processing in relation to our collection of artefacts and photographs. We are grateful for donations to the Society of artefacts that relate to the pioneer history of Mandurah and the Peel Region.
We accept photographs that depict the past activities of people in Mandurah that may be of interest to the general public and tourists visiting the area.
Halls Cottage
The Mandurah Historical Society offers educational tours of Hall’s Cottage to school groups in conjunction with Mandurah Community Museum and relaxing visits for Community Groups where morning/afternoon tea can be provided (at least two weeks prior booking notice is required to fill our volunteer rosters).
Hall’s Cottage grounds are also available for wedding bookings by appointment.
