ISABEL BORLAND (16/07/1934 – 20/09/2022)

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved member and dear friend, Isabel Borland.

Isabel was a welcome presence at the Mandurah Historical Society office, rarely missing opportunities to attend meetings or be at morning and afternoon teas and other celebrations. She was also a reliable Sunday volunteer at Hall’s Cottage, regaling other volunteers and visitors with her extensive knowledge of the history of Mandurah.

We at MHS are extremely lucky to have spent time with Isabel. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends.

Rest in peace, our dear Isabel. We will miss you.

An honest man here lies at rest,
As e’er God with His image blest:
The friend of man, the friend of truth;
The friend of age, and guide of youth:
Few hearts like his, with virtue warm’d,
Few heads with knowledge so inform’d:
If there’s another world, he lives in bliss;
If there is none, he made the best of this.

“Epitaph on my own Friend” by Robert Burns
