HALL’S COTTAGE EXCURSIONS

7 Leighton Place, HALLS HEAD

(Opposite Hall Park)

Hall’s Cottage was built in 1832 from local limestone.  It was built by Henry Edward Hall, who with his family, arrived in WA on the ship “Protector” in February 1830.  The Cottage is typical of the earliest dwellings constructed in this period after the Swan River Colony was founded.  It is heritage listed.

The Cottage contains a collection of domestic artefacts that have been used in the last 189 years.  It is varied as the Cottage was occupied as a home until the early 1950s.  Items in the Cottage have been donated by residents of the Peel Region.

Access to the Cottage is suitable for wheelchairs and there is a disabled toilet and ambulatory toilet.

Afternoon or morning tea is available at $5.00 per head.  Carers are asked for a gold coin donation, this includes a guided tour of the Cottage.

Demonstrations of laundry and shortbread making can be arranged if requested when tour is booked.  The area provides:

  • Ample parking
  • A grassed area with shady trees
  • Toilet facilities

Bookings can be made for a day and time to suit your community by phoning;
